"OK Boomer" is not an insult

Is that term really a slur or a putdown? Hmm! When I've heard the term “OK Boomer” in the workplace, it usually came from the GenYers (millennials). The blurry lines between Ys and Zs are inconsequential to me, but I love them all. After all, we baby boomers produced the Millennial Generation. They’re all young up and coming, and are establishing a foothold, just like we did.

I've observed that the biggest critics of the Millennials came from the GenXers, not us. They were relentless in the pursuit of “keeping them in their place,” and I applaud that.

Thusly, when I hear that term, I’m far from put down. Instead, I hear the following implications from that work of oratory genius: - I have no creativity - I have no originality - I just go with the whatever (TikTok, etc) trends dictate - I am entitled - Life started with me
- I am incapable of forming complete sentences
We boomers, according to my research, indicates that we have accumulated the largest amount of wealth (through hard work and investing) than any other generation in the history of this great country. Do I think you Y and Z’s are worthy of reaping the benefits of the investing and saving that my 50+ years of hard work and sacrifice has produced? H-E double hockey sticks no! Am I spending my kids’ inheritance? Yes, the heck I am! So, create your own legacy, as we boomers did. The terms "so lame" "yeet" and "OK Boomer" shouldn't be "your thing."

On the upside, I do like the better choices of alcohol, the avocado toast, more time spent with children, game rooms at the work place, more tolerance (not woke-ism, that's later), better work/life balance and minimalism. Who needs actual furniture when there's Amazon's Chinese DIY crap, of which we own several. Car and home purchases... virtually non-existent. Do the Gen X'er conglomerates dominate real estate and auto sales industries? And the smaller retail stores? It isn't us, for sure.
Anyhoo, maybe we baby boomers failed our children, or maybe our trophies for participation helped them to shape American society for the better. Either way, I'm still spending their inheritance as quickly as we can. I've done my moral and financial best, now others can go forth and make this society a better place.
